Richard “Rich” S. Gordon, a Democratic politician who represented California’s 24th Assembly District from 2010 to 2016, has a documented history of involvement in pro-Israel advocacy.
Gordon was elected President of the American Jewish Congress (AJC) in 2007, serving in that capacity for five years before being elected Chair in 2012. The American Jewish Congress is an organization that engages in pro-Israel advocacy.
In May 2008, President George W. Bush appointed Gordon to serve on an Honorary Delegation that accompanied the President to Jerusalem. The purpose of this delegation was to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel.
