“Friends of Marc Levine for Assembly 2018” was a political donor committee associated with Marc Levine, who represented Marin and Sonoma Counties in the California State Assembly from 2012 to 2022. Marc Levine’s documented relationship to pro-Israel advocacy includes his leadership of the California Legislative Jewish Caucus and his participation in and organization of delegations to Israel.
Marc Levine served as the Chair of the California Legislative Jewish Caucus. In this role, he articulated a goal of leading missions to Israel to “share the connections Jews have to Israel, and the innovation and entrepreneurship Israelis bring to the world”. He also noted that the Caucus worked on issues such as combating “anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism on college campuses”. The Caucus itself also supported the campaigns of prospective members.
In July 2018, around the time of his 2018 Assembly campaign, Levine led a bipartisan delegation of California state legislators on a tour of Israel. This trip was funded by the American Jewish Committee’s (AJC) Project Interchange and aimed to explore bilateral collaboration opportunities and learn about Israel. Levine expressed a “strong connection” to Israel, stating the delegation’s purpose was to create a meaningful way for lawmakers to learn about issues in Israel and the Middle East. He hoped to highlight the connection of the Jewish people to Israel, as well as Israeli innovation in areas like water conservation and technology, and the partnership between California and Israel.
Levine has also been listed with affiliations to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the California Legislative Jewish Caucus Foundation. A Marc Levine, identified as the director of ADL’s Central Pacific Region, was quoted in February 2025 regarding pro-Israel billboards in Northern California, stating the ADL surveys Americans on messaging to deter antisemitism and gain allies for the Jewish community. This indicates an ongoing involvement in pro-Israel advocacy.
